New From Cisco: CMBE 3000

At Enterprise Connect 2011, Cisco announced a new phone system called the Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000 with planned availability later this year. The product is aimed at the mid market – organizations that need up to 48 trunks. Cisco has some rich UC solutions for larger organizations, even smaller organizations – but the mid market had been largely neglected by Cisco.

In a nutshell, the Cisco 3000 is: Cisco3000

  1. A VoIP “foundational UC” no frills product – simplified telephony.
  2. All in One (gateway, voice mail, call manager)
  3. Low cost (LOW)
  4. Channel Ready

My colleague, Blair Pleasant, and I had the opportunity to meet with Cisco and review the Mier Consulting lab results prior to its release. We believe this product will impact the market in several ways.
