John Oliver Reads TalkingPointz

I must conclude that John Oliver of HBO’s Last Week Tonight reads TalkingPointz. What other conclusion can be made? He recently did a segment on some serious shortfalls with our 911 system – all of which here identified by Colin on TalkingPointz.

When Oliver was on Comedy Central, he took a liberal/left stance on issues. On HBO he tends to take on the neutrally absurd. It’s not an easy transition and demonstrated by Colbert with his move to CBS. 911 is a perfect topic for Oliver. Most are unaware how bad things are, and it it deserves more attention. It idea of calling 911 and getting “all operators are busy” used to be a joke, but it’s become real.
