TP Research Brief: Effective Analyst Events
How to Plan and Host an Effective Analyst Event (full subscription required)
Analyst events are a luxury, not a requirement, but for most enterprise communications and CX vendors, they remain one of the highest-leverage tools available for shaping how the market's most influential voices understand a company. However, despite substantial capital outlays, many vendor events fall flat, failing to move the needle or, worse, generating friction and negative perceptions. Contrary to popular perception, analyst events are not boondoggles; when designed correctly, they are essential working sessions that deliver high return on investment (ROI) for both hosts and attendees.
This report distills what actually separates a productive analyst event from an expensive one, based on firsthand attendance at hundreds of vendor events across UCaaS, CCaaS, and CPaaS. The core finding: effectiveness has almost nothing to do with venue luxury or budget, and almost everything to do with clarity of objective, executive presence, and unstructured time. The best events treat analysts as working participants whose feedback is actively solicited, not as an audience to be presented to.
